When #Meredith came to the @DeBalie a few months ago she was targeting (among other things) the centralized nature of Big Tech.
I asked her why she doesn't work for the #Matrix foundation then.
She said that decentralization comes with security risks.
Apparently, when a hole in the system is found, all servers need to be updated for the network to be safe again.

Something like the whole chain being as weak as the weakest link.

@MishaVelthuis @DeBalie Whups, I just deleted the post as in retrospect I found it a bit baity. I meant it more as a comment on Dutch culture than anything else.
As for @signalapp, I am happy to see it and at the same time I think anything that requires generous investors is a liability in the end.
